Students Go to the Mattress

Will Queen Aggravain meet her match? Will Prince Dauntless the Drab learn how to lighten up? Will King Sextimus the Silent raise his still small voice. And how about Sir Studley? How does his dudeness fit into this mess?

All this and more will be played out in real time this weekend as the Edgartown School puts on the classic musical comedy, Once Upon a Mattress.

All’s fair in love and the war of the sexes so be prepared to watch a show that showcases humanity at its most devious and therefore hilarious.

The show features 25 students in grades six through eight.

The curtain opens tonight, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. at the Edgartown School. The Saturday night, Nov. 6, performance is also at 7 p.m. with a preperformance dinner served by the cast’s parents and teachers beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday’s show gets underway at 2 p.m.

Tickets for the play are available at the door. The cost is $8 for adults, $6 for kids and $25 for families. The cost for the Saturday night dinner is $15 for adults and $10 for kids.
