Adult and Community Education of MV (ACE MV) will have a benefit celebrating Island diversity and culture and Ethnic Studies Week. The Cultural Festival will take place at the Performing Arts Center at the high school on Oct. 15 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The evening will include an ethnic food court featuring Deon’s Jamaican food, the Golden Swan Indian food, Tropical Brazilian Bakery, ArtCliff Diner, chef Marvin Jones and other local chefs sharing international culinary treats. There will also be music and demonstrations of salsa, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and capoeira.

A silent auction, Zapotec fortune telling and booths with many vendors also will be featured.

A concert featuring MC Sterling Bishop of R & B Entertainment, the Black Brook Singers, Leandro and Gunga, Jemima James and Dan Waters, Nightmares and Dreams: Immigrant Voices, Nina Violet with her band, and Susan Klein with Alan Brigish, authors of Martha’s Vineyard Now and Zen, will bring the night to a close.

Tickets for the evening are $15 (children under 12 are free) and may be purchased at Aboveground Records in Edgartown, Alley’s Store in West Tisbury, C’est la Vie in Oak Bluffs, Bunch of Grapes in Vineyard Haven and online at acemv.org.
