On Sept. 12 Nectar’s will host a Wintertide Coffeehouse Reunion Concert featuring popular New York singer-songwriter Dayna Kurtz and Island artists Jemima James, Dan Waters, Kim Hilliard and Kevin Keady.

Wintertide was a mainstay on the Vineyard for many years, and was recognized by Billboard as one of the top performing arts centers in the nation. It also provided entertainment for teens when there were no other options on the Island.

“It has been almost 20 years since the Island had such a unique, community-driven space,” said former manager Tony Lombardi in a press statement. “The chance to bring Dayna and the others back is a return to the sit down listening room style that the Wintertide was known for.

The concert will benefit the Alexandra Gagnon Teen Center at the YMCA which plans to create a temporary teen center space for the 2010-2011 season.

In the past two years she has been invited to open up for Rufus Wainwright, Antony and the Johnsons, and Keren Ann.

The evening will also feature popular local performers from the Wintertide era. Audiences can enjoy dinner from MV Flatbread while listening to great music.

Doors open at 7 p.m.; showtime is at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the Nectar’s box office and Island outlets including Ticketsmv.com. Advance tickets are $20 and day of show are $25. Please call 508-939-1662 for information.
