In the second of its four grant cycles in 2010, the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank Charitable Fund awarded grants totaling $8,000 to seven Island nonprofits.

Those organizations that received grants in June include the Aquinnah Cultural Center, Camp Jabberwocky, Friends of Family Planning of Martha’s Vineyard, Martha’s Vineyard Chamber Music Society, Martha’s Vineyard Film Society, Martha’s Vineyard Museum and Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation.

“As the summer season reminds us once again of the important role that nonprofits play in our community, the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank Charitable Fund is proud to continue its support of their good work,” said Chris Wells, president of the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank. “We are inspired by their dedication to bettering the quality of life on the Island and pleased that we could do our part to help them as they help so many in our community.”
