A grand puppet parade down Main street, Vineyard Haven on Saturday will be a highlight of the fourth annual weekend-long Martha’s Vineyard Puppet Festival. The parade will begin at 5 p.m., but anyone who would like to join the parade can bring a puppet friend and meet at Katharine Cornell Theatre at 4:30, or come at 3 p.m. to a free puppet-making event and make a parade puppet to follow the giant puppets — Mother Earth, Mother Ocean and Father Sky.

The festival begins with a performance on Friday at 7 p.m. at Katharine Cornell Theatre of One in the Spirit by Felted Hat Puppets and The Butter Thief by Spindrift Marionettes. On Saturday at 6 p.m., same place, the bill features Water of Life by Spindrift and Let Your Spirit Shine by Jean del Giudice. Finally on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. will be Puppets in the Garden and marionette performances in the barn at Polly Hill Arboretum in West Tisbury. Suggested donation for all shows is $10 adults, $5 children.
