Sharks on Canvas

Paul McPhee’s first visit to the Vineyard was in 2005 for Jawsfest 2005 as a licensed artist with Universal Studios. A love affair with the Vineyard that began with the movie Jaws and was strengthened in 2005 has led the artist to make the Vineyard his home. Through the use of oils and watercolors as well as murals, Mr. McPhee embraces the sea and the life that inhabits it.

\ Since 2005 he has worked on licensed Jaws paintings with Universal Studios, storyboards for the upcoming United Artists movie The Last Rites of Ransom Pride, and done commission work for Vineyard residents. He is currently showing his new work at the Edgartown Scrimshaw Gallery on Main Street. Building on his Jaws artwork, he is currently working on a series of Pirates of the Caribbean-themed paintings, along with works featuring Vineyard marine life and locations.
