Three plays in development will debut with pay-what-you-can performances this weekend at the Vineyard Arts Project in Edgartown. Each play runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday, in a rotating schedule so viewers can see three different plays in one day, or one each day, or any other combination.

Witness Uganda, a mix of music, dance and journalistic theater created and conceived by Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews, runs July 1 at 1 p.m., July 2 at 4 p.m. and July 3 at 7 p.m. It comes to ArtFarm from Los Angeles, where Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) helped to develop the script as part of his Disney/ASCAP workshop.

Big Babies, a comedy about a surrogate mother who can’t stop getting pregnant for people, a gay couple trying to have a baby, a plastic surgery addict, and the one thing they all have in common, is written by Matthew Wilkas and directed by Martha Banta. It runs July 1 at 7 p.m., July 2 at 1 p.m. and July 3 at 4 p.m.

Ayad Akhtar’s Disgraced, directed by Will Frears, runs July 1 at 4 p.m., July 2 at 7 p.m. and July 3 at 1 p.m. It shows the evening after an affluent Muslim-American lawyer married to a beautiful white woman finds out he’s been passed up at his law firm for a partnership he’s long expected. With an uncompromising perspective on Islam in America, Disgraced is a humanist call in the face of a rising tide of global tribalism.

Performances are at 215 Upper Main street in Edgartown, For tickets and details, see artfarmenterprises.com.
