Irish History for Credit

All of their wars are merry and all of their songs are sad . . .

An Irish history class will be offered for graduate, undergraduate credit or just for love of learning. Sponsored by Northeastern University, which will issue credit, the class covers the story of Ireland from the days of Celtic feuding and feasting through Ireland’s occupation by England and the War of Independence, the national struggle in Northern Ireland and the Celtic tiger. Experience Ireland through Irish eyes and learn the story of the Irish in America and, particularly, on the Vineyard. Join us to learn and share, get that elusive history credit needed to finish a degree. The class will be taught by Elaine Weintraub, history teacher at the high school, through ACEMV, the adult education series that begins this fall. Classes begin Oct. 24 and run for three weekends.
