On the heels of his highly successful new release, Toolin’ Around Woodstock with Levon Helm, master guitarist Arlen Roth teams up with daughter Lexie for an evening of acoustic music at the Yard, Sunday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. The program will include Roth’s current radio hit version of Layla, as well as songs from his upcoming all Dylan and all Simon and Garfunkel discs.

Immediately before the show, veteran site-specific choreographer Marta Renzi will present Come Round Right, performed outdoors by 11 dancers to music of the American folk tradition by Terri Roben. “It’s a reference to the Shaker tradition,” Ms. Renzi says of the title, “but it’s also an expression of the magical process by which dances come alive, and communities come together.”

Arlen Roth has been named one of the Top 100 Influential Guitarists of the Century by Vintage Guitar. Known as “The Master of the Telecaster,” Roth’s guitar prowess crosses all genres, styles and types of guitar playing, including one of his specialties, slide guitar. He has toured with Simon and Garfunkel, individually and together, from 1978 to the present, and toured or recorded withJohn Prine, Phoebe Snow, Don McLean, Eric Andersen, Tony Bird, Janis Ian, Pete Seeger (Grammy nominated album), Jack Bruce, Duane Eddy, gospel great Marion Williams, and James, Livingston and Kate Taylor.

Lexie Roth has been playing music since she was about eight years old. Her first compact disc, One Long Blink, was well-received critically and is slated for distribution in Japan. Currently, she is finishing up writing material for her second album.
