The Vineyard Nursing Association (VNA), a provider of home healthcare on Martha’s Vineyard, will host its popular annual Clambake Benefit and Auction on Wednesday, July 22, at 6 p.m. at the inspirational Field Gallery in West Tisbury.

The VNA leverages donations to fill the critical gap between the cost of home medical services and reimbursement rates from Medicare and private insurers.

This New England tradition will be prepared by the Martha’s Vineyard Clambake Company and includes New England clam chowder, lobster, mussels, fresh sweet corn, potatoes and linguica (a tangy, spicy Portuguese sausage).

Entertainment includes Kenny Goldberg and Friends throughout the live and silent auctions and the a cappella music of Vineyard Sound. Libations are compliments of Jim’s Package Store. Items up for bid include a private party and fashion show at Che’s Lounge, a photo shoot with Nicole Friedler, and a dinner party for eight by Jaime Hamlin and Sons Catering with a performance by Vineyard Sound.

Tickets for this important event are $125 per person or $900 for a private table of eight.

To buy tickets, or get other information, please call the Vineyard Nursing Association at 508-696-0785 or visit online vineyardnursing.org.

This year the VNA is celebrating 25 years of service to the community. In 2008 the agency made over 25,000 home visits. The VNA provides home healthcare for patients of all ages, from infants to elderly, with registered nurses, home health aides, physical and occupational therapists and medical social workers. Last year the VNA achieved the unique distinction of CHAP accreditation.
