Capping off a stellar season, Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School senior Mark Reppert captured the 800-metre run at the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 3 Track and Field Outdoor Championships held on Sunday at Ipswich High School.

The Vineyard girls’ track team finished 17th overall, while the boys’ team finished 20th.

Reppert beat out 13 other runners to win the 800 metre with a time of 1:58.29, narrowly beating out Andy Sukeforth of Middleboro, who finished with a time of 1:58.38. Meanwhile, senior Kim Carlomagno finished second in the 400-metre dash with a time of 60.69, placing second to Ipswich’s Hannah O’Flynn and her time of 58.62.

Both Reppert and Carlomagno now advance to the All-State Championships next weekend.

Also on Sunday, the Vineyard’s 4x400 relay team of Carlomagno, Megan Dryer, Maddy Penicauld and Lauren Lucas took fifth with a time of 4:13.8, setting a new school record.

Emma Iverson took 11th place in the 100-metre hurdle with a time of 17.07. Dryer took 11th place in the mile with a time of 5:28.90, and Doug Asselin took eighth place in the 400-metre hurdles with a time of 59.41.
