Island-designed items worth well over $1,000 comprise the prize in a raffle to benefit the Island Food Pantry. This collection has been handmade by Vineyarders who are part of the Artisans Gift Gallery at 18 State Road, Vineyard Haven, the former home of the Belushi Pisano Gallery. The kick-off for the fundraiser will be the Artisans Gift Gallery’s grand opening party on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 2 to 6 p.m.

“These times are challenging for everyone,” said organizer Beldan Radcliffe, “but the food pantry always feels the impact first and hardest.”

The eight artisans in the raffle include: Beldan Radcliffe, mixed media; Jeri Dantzig, fused glass; Ingrid Goff Maidoff, inspirational gifts and books; Washington Ledesma, ceramics; Diana Stewart, goldsmith and fine jewelry design; Nick Thayer, ceramics; Daniel Waters, books, prints and cards; and Kathleen Tackabury, sterling silver art jewelry.

Raffle tickets are $5 each or three for $10. The drawing will be at the gallery on Monday, Dec. 22 at noon.

Gallery hours are daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to the raffle, people are invited to bring canned goods to donate.
