Our Island Club members soon can enjoy savings when traveling to Cape Cod.

Benefits will be extended through the Cape Cod Community Club, a new Buy Local First program that begins Nov. 17.

Similar to Our Island Club, the program will provide savings on products and services while benefiting local charities. Any locally owned retail store, restaurant or service business can join. It is expected that there will be more than 100 participating businesses by the end of the month.

A current list of participating businesses can be viewed at capecodcommunityclub.com.

In addition, members of the Cape Cod Community Club will be able to extend their program benefits by receiving savings from select businesses when visiting the Vineyard.

Now in its fourth year, Our Island Club (OurIslandClub.com) has 2,500-plus members, more than 100 participating businesses and has raised over $60,000 for charity.

Martha’s Vineyard Insurance has become an Island Angel partner to Our Island Club. This matching donation program provides free membership to qualified needy individuals and families. Each year, more than 100 memberships are distributed to clients of Vineyard Health Care Access, Island Elderly Housing, Red Stocking Fund and the Food Pantry.

For information about receiving a free membership, contact the program coordinators at Vineyard Health Care Access, Island Elderly Housing, Red Stocking Fund and the Food Pantry.
