Oak Bluffs police on Saturday arrested a Maine man for allegedly selling cocaine at downtown bars over the past few weeks. Oak Bluffs officers assigned to the Martha’s Vineyard Drug Task Force learned that Darren Bennett, 26, was selling cocaine at various downtown bars and prepared a search warrant based on their investigation.

Officers executed the warrant in the downtown area around midnight on Saturday. At the time, Mr. Bennett was found carrying four individually packaged bags of cocaine, a single Percocet pill and around $220 in cash. Police estimated the street value of the cocaine at around $400.00.

Mr. Bennett was charged with possession of a class B substance (cocaine) with the intent to distribute and possession of a class B (Percocet). He was arraigned in Edgartown district court on Monday and then released on bail.
