The Adult and Community Education Program of the Vineyard is announcing fall classes and seminars. Classes begin Tuesday, Oct. 21 and run for five weeks on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights at the high school until Dec. 4.

In partnership with the Island public schools, the program is dedicated to offering classes that bridge generations and cultures to improve the quality of life for all members of our community.

The program offers classes for enrichment, practical training and lifelong learning. The wide range of classes include cooking, Shakespeare, music, business, computer skills, writing, wine appreciation, quilting, ethics and yoga. An outstanding faculty includes singer-songwriter Willy Mason, authors John Hough, Cynthia Riggs, and documentary film writer Georgia Morris, lawyer Nell Coogan, salsa specialist Saskia Vanderhoop, energy expert Paul Pimentel and a host of other talented educators.

The fall schedule and descriptions will be listed in the Gazette and on the YMCA sponsored Web site (acemv.org). Registration forms will be available online to mail in, or register in person at the high school from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 and 15. If you are interested in teaching a future course or seminar, or want more information, e-mail Lynn Ditchfield at lditchfield@mvyps.org.
