Happy fall. I love this weather. It is warm during the day so you can wear short sleeves or long and the nights are cool and nice for sleeping. Who could ask for better?

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to David Andrews 3rd who celebrated his day Sept. 20, Amber Medeiros, Cory Medeiros and Galen Sherman-Harper who all celebrated Sept. 21, Elizabeth Francis, Sept. 22, Ewellen Carlos, Sept. 24, and to Curtis Fournier who celebrates his day today.

Special birthday wishes to Michael Donaroma who celebrated his day Sept. 23.

Happy anniversary to Tom and Mary Mandosa of Meshacket Road who recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a two-week vacation in Italy. They ventured to Capri, Rome, Florence and Venice over the two weeks. Congratulations and here is to many more happy years together.

I know I reported that Justine and Paulo DeOliveira were married last weekend but I had to add a few things to the story. I have to say as an Islander I have seen many weddings being held at the lighthouse, however, I never attended one there. Well let me say it was one of the best weddings we have been to. First the lighthouse against the fall blue sky and the calm harbor in the background was a spectacular setting. Justine and her father Peter, and the attendants arrived by boat and the sun was just right for the party to be silhouettes and I think left a few people with tears in their eyes. Of course the sand was pretty hard to walk in with shoes so the bride and her attendants were barefoot which to me made a true Island wedding. It started there and ended at Farm Neck. It was a great day for all, so as I said before congratulations Justine and Paulo and may you have many happy years together.

I don’t want to scare anyone, but every year we make a vow to ourselves that we are not going to put the stress on us again. Yes, I know Halloween is not over and Thanksgiving is soon, but three short weeks after that is Christmas. So I must say that there are only twelve and one half weeks until Christmas. So if you buy one present per week you will have a good start on the holiday. Am I going to do it? Probably not, but it’s a good thought.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
