We are still waiting for more rain. The weather has been humid and the beaches are still crowded, and the summer is going quickly.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week.

This has been a quiet week. Our extended family has gone home after a great visit and lots of time at the beach and doing the shopping and checking out the restaurants and shops. Some even made it to Menemsha for the sunset.

While my niece Debbie was here, we went to see the Vineyard Sound. Ralph and I used to follow them when they first started out. The past few years we heard them here and there but never went to a concert. So we decided to go to the Federated Church where, for $8, you get chowder, salad and then a concert.

We listened to one of the best concerts we have heard in a long time. The talent of these young men is amazing.

If you have a chance, you should try to attend one of their performances. They are at the Tabernacle tonight for their big concert of the season and it should prove to be a great one.

Barbara Mulcahy called to report that she had a Curry College reunion weekend with two friends. Dorothy Fleming and Jeanette DeJong arrived July 8 for a few days and the trio enjoyed their reunion by going to the beach, luncheons on the deck and a visit to the Cottages in Oak Bluffs. It was a fun visit for all.

Jonathan Jackson was here visiting with his grandparents Bill and Beth Erickson. Jonathan loves hanging out with Pop in the shop and working around the boats. This year he did some of his own woodworking and liked it a lot. Who knows what next summer will bring?

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
