This has been a great week. The sun has been shining during the day and it rained a little at night.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Special wishes go to Shannon Dolby Smith who celebrated her day with a party. It was fun to watch the kids that we knew with their children as they chased them around the yard, as their own parents had done not too many years ago.

Lots of special wishes and balloons to Jan Norton who celebrates a milestone birthday this week. Her daughter Debbie and son in law Bill, and son Stuart and his wife Cathy came to help celebrate. Happy birthday, Jan, and here is to many more.

This has not been an eventful week as far as news. Of course the big news is the Celtics winning the championship. Now maybe we can all get a little sleep.

Town is getting busier. I noticed the other day that the tour buses have started. Also they have paved the town lot behind Edgartown Pizza so that lot will be ready for the traffic and buses. They put the lines in and next will be the granite for the front of the parking space. The lights will be up soon and the portable toilets will return. Now we hope the townspeople will use the lot to help ease the traffic in town.

Betsy Burmeister wrote to please invite all our readers to the auction today, Friday, June 20, at the agricultural hall from 6 to 8 p.m. This auction will benefit Windemere’s activity programs.

The event will have a live auction and a silent auction as well as a raffle. Admission is free, and there will be wine and desserts for the taking.

Please come and support the residents of Windemere. Tell everyone you know.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
