Oak Bluffs Plans Harbor

Fest, Summer Solstice

On Saturday, June 21, Oak Bluffs will kick off summer with Harbor Fest and Summer Solstice merged into one day of outdoor entertainment. The day will conclude with fireworks.

The day will begin at noon with the 17th annual Harbor Fest featuring music, arts, crafts and family entertainment nestled between the harbor front and the gingerbread cottages. More than 50 artisans and vendors will display a wide array of crafts and trinkets. The Jon Bates Band and Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish will provide music.

As the harbor festival winds down at 6 p.m., the party starts up on Circuit avenue with the Summer Solstice celebration. The night begins with an outdoor street fair with shopping, dining, music and entertainment. The night will culminate at 10 p.m. with a fireworks display over the Sound visible from Ocean Park.

People who wish to know whether the day’s events have been postponed should listen to radio station WMVY (92.7 FM) at 9 a.m. and thereafter for information. The rain date is Sunday, June 22.
