Storyteller and sea shanty singer David Coffin (of the Nantucket Coffin clan) will present his concert program Life at Sea: A Voyage in Song, on Saturday, March 29, at 1 p.m. at the West Tisbury School.

His engaging program takes his audience, through stories and songs, on an imaginary 1820 whaling voyage around the Horn to the Pacific whaling grounds. Accompanied by his concertina, Mr. Coffin’s lyrics conjure the great age of sail and the dangers of the Nantucket Sleighride. History and anecdotes abound. Participation is encouraged and he has promised not to throw his harpoon.

Mr. Coffin has been presenting this, and other lively programs in schools throughout New England for the past eight years. Sponsored by West Tisbury Parks and Recreation, the interactive family show costs $1 for children and $3 for adults. All are welcome.
