Habitat for Humanity of Martha’s Vineyard, in conjunction with the town of Edgartown, will be building a two-bedroom home in Edgartown beginning this summer. Habitat is seeking a qualified family to join in the building of the home.

An informational meeting will be held on the selection process Saturday, March 22 at 9 a.m. at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, Room 501.

Application requirements for home-ownership will be outlined during the meeting and questions will be answered. The application forms will be available.

The selection process began on Feb. 29 and one Edgartown family will be selected for the new two-bedroom home.

Habitat is not a give-away program or subsidized housing. Potential home-owners are selected on the basis of need, ability to repay a non-interest bearing mortgage, and willingness to become partners in the program through sweat equity hours and support of Habitat activities.

Applications must be submitted no later than midnight March 31.

If you do not have adequate housing and have a stable income, you may qualify for a new home. All questions will be answered at the meeting.
