Agricultural Society Invites

Farm Grant Applications

The Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society has issued a call for applicants for its annual grant program. Eligible are all farm-related individuals or organizations whose goal is to improve the quality of life and contribute to the sustainability of the Vineyard agricultural community.

The agricultural society is a non-profit organization, created in 1859, and funded by contributions from the membership and supporters who attend any one of several annual community events. The society seeks to provide assistance to the Island farm community in the form of annual grants to farming individuals and organizations in need of funding for unique projects or programs.

The society gives special consideration to innovative approaches to problems or needs that cannot receive funding through traditional sources. The society does not plan to award grants two years in a row to the same organization.

The society invites Island farming individuals or organizations to submit a concise proposal describing their specific project, its potential benefits, budgetary requirements and the grant amount requested. Proposals must be received by April 1 and may be sent to the Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society, P.O. Box 73, West Tisbury MA 02575. Questions may be directed to Eleanor Neubert at 508-693-4343.
