Island residents who stayed with their television sets on Sunday night past the Patriots and into Sunday Night Football were hoping to see the promised NBC coverage of the Island high school football team. It has been rescheduled for Nov. 18 and Nov. 25. Earlier schedules had the segment airing on Nov. 4 and Nov. 11.

The NBC Sports web site on Tuesday morning showed the new dates. The Vineyarders are one of eight high school teams nationally to be covered as part of The Line of Scrimmage hosted by Toyota Tundra trucks, programming that features storied high school football programs from Massachusetts to New Mexico.

The Vineyarders’ page on the NBC Sports web site does post photos and descriptions of the game between the Island high school and Hull, which NBC covered. The Vineyarders won the game 35-20 after NBC crews spent three days covering the team’s game preparation and its travel to Hull.
