The Insight Meditation Community of Martha’s Vineyard, which has been meeting in the Unitarian-Universalist Chapel for the past 27 years, is entering a new phase in its growth as it becomes a recognized teacher-led Sangha (a Sanskrit word roughly translated as community), thanks to Chas Di Capua, teacher in residence at the Insight Meditation Society located in Barre, Mass.

Mr. DiCapua will be leading a series of Mindfulness Sessions designed to help build the Insight Meditation Community of Martha’s Vineyard’s growing Sangha here. This program will meet on Saturdays in the Unitarian-Universalist chapel from 9 a.m. to noon monthly as follows: Sept. 29, Oct. 27 and Dec. 15, continuing into 2008 when a day-long retreat is planned to be led by Mr. DiCapua on a date yet to be set.

To preregister for the program please call Jo Rice at 508-693-2827 (or e-mail jscotrice@comcast.net) or Peg Thayer at 508-627-9835 (thayray@verizon.net ), or contact the church office at 508-693-8982 (uusmv@uusmv.info). There will be no charge to enter this program, only dana (donations that will help with space costs and the teacher’s travel expenses).
