Maria Ghabrielly drops in a tip for Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish at the Tisbury Street Fair. Ivy Ashe

It's best to arrive at the Tisbury Street Fair with an empty stomach. Crowds packed Main street in Vineyard Haven on Monday evening to peruse outdoor shopping booths and listen to live music on every corner, but the biggest lines could be found at the numerous food tables. Cotton candy, fudge, burgers, lobster rolls, linguica, jamabalaya, fish tacos and even quiche (at Le Grenier's booth) was on the menu. The Good Shepherd Parish's fried masaladas booth had moved to a new location across the street from its usual spot, but deacon Karl Buder said the switch hadn't thrown too many regulars off.

"They followed the smell," he said.
