In a much-anticipated league rivalry game, the Vineyard boys' hockey team fell 4-1 to visiting Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Coyle and Cassidy Wednesday evening.

The Vineyard moves to 3-1 in the league and 8-3-1 overall. Coyle is now undefeated in the EAC.

Coyle jumped on the board in the first period only to have Vineyard senior cocaptain Brian Fraser notch a power play goal in the second. Assists went to seniors Tyson Araujo and Andrew Carroll). The Warriors pulled ahead in the third period, scoring two goals in two minutes. They sealed the deal with an open-net goal in the final minute of the game.

Despite outshooting their opponents 24-14, the Vineyarders could not solve senior Coyle goalie Cam Jacques.

The team continues league play on Saturday with an away contest against Bishop Stang.
