Parents and children gathered at the Edgartown Lighthouse for the 13th annual Ceremony of Remembrance. At the base of the lighthouse, granite stones are engraved with the names of children who have died.
During a conversation Thursday at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum, Andrew Moore reflected on his art career as part of a legacy that spans generations. The museum is featuring his work along with art by his daughter, Hannah, and his great-great-grandfather N.A. Moore.
While holding their place for generally high academic performance, Vineyard public schools turned in mixed scores this year on the MCAS exam. Some schools showed new areas that need improvement, especially for low income and special needs students.
Children from all over the Island converged on the Oak Bluffs Steamship Authority dock at first light Sunday for the annual Kids’ Derby. Nine-year-old Myles Sprague took home the top prize for a bluefish he caught from the dock.
