On Tuesday, July 15, at 7 p.m. Neville Frankel will give a reading and discussion of his novel Bloodlines at the Vineyard Haven Public Library, 200 Main street, Vineyard Haven.
Appointment season continued in Tisbury last Tuesday as the board of selectmen continued to fill positions on town committees.
Next weekend Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse opens its second play of the summer season: Search: Paul Clayton. The world premiere opens with previews on July 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Obituaries

Philip G. James Jr. died on July 6 in Brandford, Conn. He was 89.
Carl Ephraimson Barrie died on June 30. He was 91. He was born in Natick, R.I., on April 28, 1923, to James and Anna Victoria Barrie, and grew up in Cranston, R.I.
