The Vineyard swim teams took on Nantucket in their final dual meet of the season this Saturday. Though both teams fell to the Whalers, head coach Jonathan Chatinover reported that a number of athletes recorded personal best times.
All four captains—Jessica Campbell, Mariah Campbell, Ina Thigith and Liam Cosgrove—recorded personal bests, with Cosgrove taking first place in the 100 yard butterfly. Tucker Cosgrove also turned in a personal best in the fly to take third place. Joshua Boucher (50 yard freestyle) and Nevin Wallis (200 yard freestyle) recorded personal bests as well.
The boys' 400 yard freestyle relay team (Liam Cosgrove, Tucker Cosgrove, Nevin Wallis and Justice Yennie) earned a first place finish, and the 200 yard freestyle relay took a close second place after three swimmers (Tucker Cosgrove, Joshua Boucher and Wallis) swam their best-ever 50 yard splits.
The teams travel to the Bay Colony Conference Championships, held at Bridgewater State University, this weekend.
