Grandma bragging rights here now. My youngest grandson Dominic, living in Rockford, Ill. and attending Thomas Jefferson High School, has just finished performing in Mean Girls the Musical. Dominic played Aaron. My son, Chris Clark who grew up here, says it was wonderful. I am waiting for the video.

The annual MS bike-a-thon took place last Saturday on-Island. It raises money for multiple sclerosis. We had a great turnout.

Sunday was Cinco de Mayo. I used to celebrate it annually here with retired nurse Christine Paffendorf.

I was so sad to hear Elsbeth Fullem passed at her Island home last month. She was a delightful person.

The wake for Marion Cardoza will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 17 at Chapman Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be at St. Augustine’s on Saturday, May 18 at 11 a.m. The celebration of her life will be at the VFW from 1 to 4 p.m.
